I ran up that hill and now I'm tired. I'm finishing up my AS degree and will be headed on to my BFA program in the Fall. I am a lifelong learner so I truly enjoy college, and would continue to go for the rest of my life if I could. However, this term has by far been the roughest. I had a bout with cluster migraines at the beginning of the term, then my kids and I got the flu... then democracy went to shit. First, my Federal financial aid was threatened, and then our new government began talking about demolishing the Department of Education. To top it off, I am hitting menopause so my face sometimes feels like it's melting off and I have horrific anxiety in the evenings. I'm sure there is a Wikipedia page about people like me and it's probably messy. I'm determined to finish out my collegiate career but I'll be damned if the universe isn't out to ruin me. Are we in the bad place? This feels like the bad place.
The highlights of this term so far are my Anthropology class in its entirety. If I wasn't already on track for something else, I'd become a Cultural Anthropologist. Honestly all my classes this term are rich with information but Anth. is amazing! Another highlight, is a feminist artist I had never heard of, sadly - Judy Chicago, and I am in LOVE with her! Haha! Such an amazing powerhouse! A great mix of sass and spice! In Illustration, I colored my first animation cell - poorly, but I did it and I loved every wet, messy second of it!
